Comments:

  • The Packers are benefitting from their big win over the Giants, as well as their loss to the Lions not looking quite so bad. They're still a long way back of the Patriots, though.

  • And speaking of the Lions, their recent success has pushed them all the way up to #13. Probably overrated, but they did beat the Packers (9-6), Buccaneers (9-6) and Dolphins (7-8), after a lot of close losses.

  • For the second year in a row, a late-season loss by the Eagles costs them a first-round bye. At least this year, they already have the division locked up. But if they can't play any better than that, their playoff run will be just as short as it was last year.

  • Every team in the NFC West is still ranked in the bottom 10 teams. And, unless the Rams win by at least 29 points next week, every NFC West team will finish with a negative point differential.

  • The Cardinals get a pretty good bump from beating the Cowboys, but it's not enough to get ahead of the Panthers, who get a bump just from playing the highly-ranked Steelers. All 4 bottom teams are ranked pretty close together, with a pretty steep drop-off between the 49ers and Broncos.
