Comments
You can see the current playoff picture here, and current playoff scenarios here.
After their dominating win over the Vikings, the Cardinals have a well-deserved spot in the top 5.
...and the Chargers are at #3? Well, they are on a 7 game winning streak, which includes games against the Giants, Eagles, and Broncos.
And with the Broncos at 8-4, and even the Raiders getting some surprising upsets, it could be that the AFC West is no longer one of the worst divisions in the NFL anymore.
The Patriots are 1-3 in their last 4, and just a game ahead of the 6-6 Dolphins and Jets. The battle for the AFC East could very well go down to Week 17.
The Cowboys are another struggling division leader with two very close contenders. They've got four tough games left, and (given their poor tie-breaker situation) could actually drop out of the playoffs all together.
The Packers are knocking on the door of the top 10, and this time it actually seems like they are worth a high rank. It's no coincidence that their 4-game winning streak and much better protection for Aaron Rodgers have come along at the same time.
Teams ESPN likes more than APR:
- Bengals (+8)
- The Bengals just don't feel like a top-5 team to me. They lost to the Raiders, and then posted unremarkable wins over two of the worst teams in the league. Their lack of offensive production is going to cost them when they play the better teams on their schedule.
Teams APR likes more than ESPN:
- Jets (-10)
- APR probably hs the Jets ranked too high at #9. But they have won a couple games in a row, along with 4 close losses. As long as Sanchez stays healthy (slide, Mark, slide!), they could actually have a chance to contend for the AFC East.
