Comments:

  • Do the Bengals belong in the top 10? They are 8-4, and have a commanding lead in their division. Maybe I'm biased against them, but I just never get the feeling like they're a team that's gonna be a big threat in the playoffs. And only scoring 17 points on an also-ran team like the Chargers is one of the reasons why.

  • And the Cowboys are in the top 10, too. They have maybe one quality win (Eagles) to their credit, and got absolutely crushed by the Saints last month, and struggled to beat a very bad Vikings squad. Right now, it feels like the Eagles are the best team in the NFC East, with the Cowboys a distant second.

  • I was going to includ the Cardinals in the "teams that don't belong in the top 10" list, but they've got three wins against quality opponents (Lions, Panthers, Colts). And even in losing to the Eagles this week, they still battled back to make it a game.

  • The Lions get a Thanksgiving win over the Packers for the first time in 10 years, and do it in dominating fashion (at least, as far as the final score goes). But those four turnovers were pretty ugly, and playing like that will send them home early when it comes playoff time.
