Comments:

  • Broncos are still number one, but not quite so dominatingly anymore. Patriots jump to the #2 spot on their win.

  • The Eagles get their win, but I really wonder how well Mark Sanchez can do while Nick Foles is out. He's got (IMO) better players around him than he did with the Jets, and certainly a more offensive minded coach.

The NFC East could come down to the two Eagles/Dallas games yet to be played. Neither of which is scheduled for week 17, which has to be at least some relief to the Cowboys.

  • The Chargers haven't won in Miami since a playoff game in January 1982, and are 4-10 there all time (regular season and playoffs).

  • After a pretty ugly start to the season that culminated with a blow-out loss to the Browns, the Steelers have won 3 straight to get to a 6-3 record. They have a solid chance at their first playoff berth since 2011 (which culminated in that overtime playoff loss to the Tebow-led Broncos).

  • The Bengals get another win, and somehow remain atop the AFC North. But it's probably not a good thing that they didn't really put away the now 1-8 Jaguars until nearly half way through the fourth quarter.

The Bengals have a tough schedule remaining, including at the Saints, verses the Broncos, as well as their home-and-away series against the newly resurgent Steelers. They're gonna have to play better to repeat as AFC North champs.

  • Are the 49ers out of the playoff picture already? The division is probably out of reach (barring an epic collapse on the part of the Cardinals). Given the current state of the NFC East and NFC North, it could take 10 wins to get the NFC's #6 seed, which means that the 49ers need at least 6 more wins down the stretch on a very tough schedule.
