Comments
Things are settling down—only 3 teams moved by more than 7 spots, and the top 10 remains pretty stable. Next week will feature the return of 'Teams APR Likes More Than ESPN' (and vice versa).
The Jets hold on to 1st place, in spite of losing 2.1% of their power index. They're only a little bit ahead of the Colts. If the Jets can beat the Saints next week, they should stay in the top spot (the Colts have the Seahawks, so they could drop even on a big win).
The Cardinals are easily the highest-ranked 1-2 team (ahead even the 3-0 Ravens). But notice the Cardinals' opponents are a combined 6-3, while the Ravens' opponents are a combined 2-7. Playing quality competition makes a big difference in the rankings.
Also note there's a major drop-off in power indexes from #4 to #6.
The Colts really benefit from a big road win. Though you can see from the Giants, it helps to beat a team that has a win of their own.
Every team in the NFC West lost this week. Every team in the NFC North won this week.
