Comments
The Patriots lose power for a 21-point loss. APR doesn't push them lower because 1) they were on the road, and 2) it was against a highly ranked team.
There's a big gap in the standings between the top 3 (Saints, Colts and Vikings) and the rest of the league. 26 teams are at 7-4 or worse.
Now the Titans are knocking on the door of the top 5. And somehow, a team that started 0-6 has a chance of getting to a 0.500 record (or even better).
Teams ESPN likes more than APR:
- Giants (+8)
- The Giants have lost 4 of their last 5 games, and needing overtime to deny the Falcons their second road win of the season. The way their playing, they might not get another win this season. Yet somehow ESPN has them ranked above 17 other teams.
Teams APR likes more than ESPN:
- Titans (-10)
- The Titans now have a 5 game winning streak, including 4 against teams with a reasonable shot at the playoffs (Cardinals, 49ers, Texans, and Jaguars). All of them would have a better shot with another win.
